Why is it so hard to find a good website to sell my t shirts on, there are so many companies out there but some of them want to take the idea make it there own and pay me a small design fee, no thanks. Yes there are companies that will sell my t shirt but they change way too much. The basic t shirt shouldn’t cost more than $20 but the print on demand websites want $20 themselves add profit and now the shirt is over priced so much that no one will buy it. Selling on the internet is hard enough never mind having an over priced item. I would like the shirts to be priced under $20 and still make a profit. So far I haven’t found anything good for selling my designs.
On a side note what if there was a way to get designers more involved in the process where they could make a profit on each sale and still have the shirt cost under $20 now that would be something interesting.
To get the cost under $20 we bought a gross of 100 shirts using a couple designs and sizes. I still have some work to do but at least the process has been started. I still think I’m going to use nopCommerce; all its features have hung in with every solution I’ve come across. Some of the plug-ins for WordPress sound good but I think that’s just marketing and that nopCommerce is still a better solution for selling. Although it would be nice to have an integrated blog with the store, my partner is very funny and willing to write his thoughts down and make the world laugh. Every time I’m with him I can’t help but laugh, his stories or comments on things in general have me laughing time and time again but that’s something for another time. The point is he is willing to write and I need to come up with a place for him to post to.
So the game plan as of now is to try out the shirts at our local hang outs see which shirts sell better than others and reevaluate our design and business plan. The designs have been successful in the past my partner made about $40K selling them at bike shows and places of that sort. So the idea works I just need to see the process work before I decided a good course of action. Selling on the internet is a lot different that at bike shows so once I find some proper keywords I’ll write a plan out and start the website I’ll find the basic keywords by field testing.
